When my 91 year old mother had her first stroke, I thought we’d handle it, it definitely scared the life out of me, yes, but I just knew or maybe hoped we’d figure things out, resolve what needed to get done, get mom back on her feet, and return to “normal.”
What was I thinking?!
I obviously didn’t realize then that there would be no going back to “normal”.
This was a journey that would test every ounce of my patience, strength, forgiveness, and love I had.
At one moment we’re daughters and sons, maybe parents, many of us working full time careers and the next we’re managing our aging parent’s medications, overseeing moves, researching assisted living, nursing care, balancing emotions, deciphering medical jargon, and trying to hold ourselves together while everything around us is falling apart.
This website and my book, currently in the works, is for those moments no one prepares us for.
Why isn’t this information more widely available? Why don’t we talk about elder care and parent care with the same intensity we devote to childcare, menopause, or mental health?
Why is it such a secret, only whispered about when we’re already knee-deep in crisis? I know exactly what that feels like. I was the sibling shouldering all the responsibility, it was hard, emotional, and utterly draining.
If I can help just one person, one family learn from my journey, then all of this, the struggle, the lessons, the heart ache will have been worth it.
Each week, I break down what you really need to know, practical lessons, must-know tips, and the latest breakthroughs in elder care, all in short, easy-to-read blog posts and Instagram reels.

Don’t wait, prepare yourself, your parents, and your family for this journey now. It’ll make all the difference
