Why I started This Website
Welcome — I’m Theresa
I never imagined I’d become the primary navigator for my elderly mom. As the youngest of three and part of the “sandwich generation,” I’m balancing life as a mom to a teenager, a wife, and now a navigator/caregiver to my aging parent.
This chapter began suddenly in early 2024 after the loss of my mom’s husband. What followed was a crash course in advocacy, tough decisions, and learning how to show up even when I didn’t feel ready. Parent Care Workshop was born from this lived experience — and from the belief that this journey isn’t meant to be walked alone.
Here, we’re building a community of adult children who share their experiences, worries, and questions openly. It’s not just about me and my mom — it’s about all of us supporting each other with clarity, compassion, and heart.

Why isn’t this information more widely available? Why don’t we talk about elder care and parent care with the same intensity we devote to childcare, menopause, or mental health?
Why is it such a secret, only whispered about when we’re already knee-deep in crisis? I know exactly what that feels like. I was the sibling shouldering all the responsibility, it was hard, emotional, and utterly draining.
If I can help just one person, one family learn from my journey, then all of this, the struggle, the lessons, the heart ache will have been worth it.
