Area Agencies On Aging

Most families don’t realize there is a federally funded office in every county specifically designed to help adults age 60 and older stay safe and independent at home. Area Agencies on Aging connect families to essential services like home-delivered meals, transportation to medical appointments, caregiver respite, fall-prevention programs, elder rights advocacy, and more. These services are often free or donation-based and prioritize those with the greatest need. This resource can be a powerful first step for adult children navigating care for an aging parent — and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
